Bury Museum, Art Gallery and Archives

There is always a great exhibition or Art Collection to see at Bury Musuem and Art Gallery.

Featuring new contempary art,  past classics and a good collection of interesting and somewhat varied objects, the museum and gallery is well worth a visit if you have a spare hpour or two.

The inhouse collection was donated by Thomas Wrigley away back in 1897 and features a charming art collection of mixed paintings and ceramics.  I often spend a happy afternoon gaving through the collection, my favourite piece is John Constable's  - Hampstead Heath.  Constable's remarkable painting depicts billowing clouds and rolling fields that cosily bring me back to long childhood days in the Pennines.

Bury Museum Opening Times:

Tuesday - Friday: 10am - 5pm

Saturdays: 10am - 4.30pm

Closed: Sunday, Mondays, Bank Holidays
